Details
QPASTT’s community cookbook How to Cook Hope is a celebration of culture and community, shared through the recipes and stories of refugee women who have found safety and home here in Queensland.
The women’s reflections of finding belonging and their descriptions of culture reveal a spirit of generosity and heartfelt hospitality that runs deep. They dreamed up the idea of this community cookbook from their wish to share their food and culture with you – to give back to the community that has welcomed them, and to invite all of us to find our own sustenance through delicious food and nourishing connections.
In How to Cook Hope, you’ll find recipes for mouthwatering savoury and sweet dishes from Afghanistan, Syria and Iran, made all the more tastier by the knowledge that all proceeds from the sale of this cookbook go back into community programs supporting newly arrived refugees in Queensland.
How to Cook Hope features a foreword by Saba Abraham – community leader, social entrepreneur and Queensland’s Local Hero 2022.
