On the 26th of October, New Farm Cinema is screening Flee, an award-wining animated documentary. The film follows an Afghanistan-born gay man and his journey from escaping his home country as a child to discovering and coming to terms with his queer identity and coming out to his family.

The screening is organised by Third Queer Culture, a Brisbane based peer group for LGBTIQ+ people who have an experience of seeking safety in Australia. Third Queer Culture aims to improve understanding of the complexities of the queer experience from people with diverse backgrounds and create a safe space for self-expression and community.

Tickets are available here.

  • Tickets include drink on arrival starting from 6pm.
  • Movie screening at 6:30pm followed by a Q&A with Third Queer Culture.

Funds raised from tickets will go toward supporting TQC’s work. If you are able to, TQC will also be excepting cash donations at the event.
